Synopsis

The following standard contract constitutes a revised and adapted version of the authors’ « Contrat-type d’échange de documents informatisés (EDI) par le biais des « réseaux ouverts » ».

While the first version of this standard contract was written in regards to electronic data interchange (EDI), the current version has strayed from the EDI context so as to offer a more general contractual frame which could be applied to all sorts of long-term e-business relationships. The authors have therefore chosen to put aside the particularities of EDI in order to broaden the applicability of such a commitment to other types of electronic communications, whatever they may be. The general nature of this standard contract obviously implies that it could not pretend to address all possible hypotheses, parties must therefore adapt its different clauses to their needs.
